For sale is my pair of cold cast copper/resin Hippopotamuses which I created/sculpted, you will receive a pair x2 copper/resin castings of my original Hippo sculptures (as pictured). The larger hippo measures approx (length 27") (width 12") (height 4") inches, the smaller hippo measures approx (length 17") (width 7") (height 3") and they are hollow cast using the cold cast bronze method (see below for detailed description of this process) making these solid looking but light weight (approx 1.5kg and 0.5kg) so that you can easily move them when maintaining your garden.

I also sell other sizes and styles of hippos in my shop at varying price points, so please take a look to see which you prefer. I do offer discounts on multiple orders which can make the postage work out much cheaper for you (see further details below).

How It’s Made:
As described above these resin hippos are cast using the cold cast copper method. Instead of using molten copper, real copper powder is mixed with resin and is then cast by hand in to the mould to produce a durable frost proof garden sculpture that looks pretty much identical to traditionally cast copper sculptures at a fraction of the weight and price!

The sculpture is then buffed and polished by hand to bring the copper finish to a shine (you can see the copper finish even better in person). The garden ornament is then sealed with a special metal sealer to protect the copper finish.
